Michell Instruments Ltd, the leading European manufacturer of industrial hygrometry equipment, has won a major order from the Oman Natural Oil Company/Shell Consortium in Oman. Worth in excess of £100,000, the order represents the company's first order to Oman and was won through its distributor in Benelux, Bakker and Co. BV, from Saybolt M&I BV in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The order consists of a complete, fully self-contained humidity calibration system and 10 Cermax Intrinsically Safe portable dewpointmeters, to be used for trace moisture analysis in natural gas.

In particular, the portable Cermax IS units are ideal for use in natural gas environments, as the devices are specially designed to provide quick and easy determination of moisture content. Cermax IS devices are both CENELEC and FM certified for use in gas group IIC and achieve excellent accuracy levels of ±1ºC dewpoint between -60ºC and +20ºC, and ±2ºC dewpoint in the range -100ºC to -60ºC, with a resolution of 0.1ºC dewpoint across the entire range.

The S4000 RS cooled mirror dewpointmeters are ideal for a wide range of calibration applications and provide extremely high levels of accuracy and measurement stability over the full humidity range.

Based on primary cooled mirror measurement, the Series 4000 provides an accuracy of ±0.1ºC, a response speed of 0.5ºC/second, and repeatability of 0.01ºC, making it an ideal laboratory reference standard for the calibration of other devices, and the production of error or uncertainty statements.
