Michell's Expansion Reflects 'Optimism' for Future GrowthMichell Instruments, the UK's leading supplier of humidity-measuring instrumentation, has announced a major factory expansion programme which, the company's CEO claims, not only indicates Michell's confidence in British workers, it also reflects the growing optimism surrounding the Cambridge-based company. The impressive expansion programme will add 2,000ft2 of office, laboratory and test space over a 12-week period to Michell's manufacturing facility in Cambridge. The additional space will be used to house a completely new sensor manufacturing facility and accommodate vital additional staff. The move is in response to rapidly-increasing demand for Michell's impedance hygrometers and chilled mirror dewpointmeters. However, the company plans to use the investment as a springboard for further expansion. Mike Bannister, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "This investment in our Cambridge manufacturing facility reflects our confidence in both our growth prospects over the coming years and in the excellence of our Cambridge workforce." He continued: "We expect to be able to accommodate a doubling of production in the next three years through our new factory." As part of its ongoing expansion programme, the company recently appointed Andrew Stokes and David Leonard to its board of directors, as technical director and finance director, respectively. |
